Can Forced-Continued Upchucking Shorten Stomach Bug Symptoms?

*Warning: illness discussion*

Since I have been a parent, I have noticed more sickness around the house. Children are walking virus magnets. I cannot remember the last time I had stomach bug symtpoms before children. I got to say, I do miss seldomly getting sick versus what seems like it is seasonal with kids. The last time was just last week. I guess it is going around again.

The last two stomach bugs I have gotten gave me a chance to do something different in regards to upchucking. We all hate stomach bugs, so I tried to see how I could lessen or shorten its impact.

I tried something new.

What I tried was when I had to throw up, I kept it going until I was sure I was good. This is different with self-inducing, obviously, due to the nature that self-inducing is referencing not having a stomach bug and vomiting. All I did was try to keep the flow going. I could feel when my body said I was done. I did that every time I had to go to the restroom.

Result: Positive. In my opinion, I had less symptom time overall than I ever had. Case in point, upchucking lasted in both cases less than 24 hours. More like 16 or 18 hours with 30 minutes to 2 hour increments. I really do feel like the last…
